Frequently Asked Questions

??????

??????

Q. Do you bring a massage table?

A. Yes! I bring everything that is required for the massage, including massage table, oils, linen, pillows and bolsters, music and more.

Q. I have sensitive skin, what oil do you use?

A. I use Mwax as my massage lubricant of choice. It is an Australian owned, Australian made product made from a blend of bees wax and canola oil. Their original Mwax is ideal for sensitive skin as it is has no preservatives, no synthetics, no parabens and no odours/scents. Mwax does not clog your pores like other petroleum based products do, and it does not leave you feeling greasy after your massage like other massage oils do. Mwax is also available in a variety of naturally scented versions too if you prefer.

For more information, check out www.mwax.com.au.

But I do also carry coconut oil, QV lotion and fisiocrem for my clients who prefer these lubricants. If you have a particular oil or lotion you would like used during your massage, I am more than happy to use that if you provide it.

Q. Will your massage table support my weight?

A. Yes! my table is weight rated for up to 450kg. It is also wider than many massage tables out there, making it more comfortable to lie on.

Q. What suburbs do you travel to?
A. I bring my massage to the suburbs of Ipswich and south-western Brisbane, travelling up to approximately 30 minutes from Raceview 4305.  Please contact me to find out if I service your area.

Q. What if I can't get onto your massage table due to mobility issues?

A. Not a problem at all. I can adjust to massage to suit your needs. For example I can give you the massage with you sitting in your favourite armchair, wheelchair, or even with you lying on your bed. I work around you and your needs.

Q. I feel like a need a massage, but I am a bit nervous as I don't want it to hurt. What can I do?

A. Book in with me!      Massage does NOT need to be painful to be beneficial. I believe that when you can relax your parasympathetic nervous system, then you can get deeper into the muscles, without needing to use as much force, thereby not creating the pain.

Q. I've never had a massage before and I am a bit nervous...........

A. Having a massage in your own home is a great way to introduce your body to massage. I have many clients who have been in the same situation as you, but they have found that being in their own home, they were able to relax more as they feel more comfortable and less vulnerable in their own space.

Q. I really want a massage but I can't find a baby sitter, what can I do?

A. Never fear! I work around you and your needs, as well as the needs of your children at home. One of the benefits of my mobile massage service is the flexibility around your children - they might be having a nap, watching a movie, colouring-in, etc while you get your massage. Click here for more information.

Q. Do I need to have cash?

A. No, I have an EFTPOS terminal that I bring with me to all appointments, so you can pay with cash, EFTPOS or credit card. I can also accept HICAPS payments for some private health insurance funds. Please contact me for more information.

Q. I have private health insurance, can I claim my remedial massage with you?
A. This is a complicated answer! It firstly depends on whether or not you have remedial massage included in your extras cover, and then it secondly depends on which health fund you are with. I am registered with and have a provider number for all health funds, however not all funds recognise mobile remedial massage treatments, meaning that unfortunately for some, you will not be able to claim your treatment in your home.
But the good news is that most funds DO allow claiming for mobile remedial massage, and some of those even allow for instant claiming with my mobile HICAPS machine, meaning you only need to pay me the gap amount. Please contact me or your own health fund to find out if they recognise mobile remedial massage treatments.

Q. Do you massage children?

A. Yes! I have a current Blue Card (working with children check), as well as professional membership with Massage & Myotherapy Australia (Australian Association of Massage Therapists AAMT), professional indemnity and public liability insurance, as well as first aid training. My own children love receiving massages from me and I feel they reap many benefits from massage. Younger kids usually only need about 15 minutes for their massage, and so I am very happy to tack their massage on before or after your massage booking (with prior arrangement) for a reduced cost. Many parents of children with ADHD and Autism spectrum disorders find massage a great calming and regulating tool for their children. Older children will be usually wanting around 30 minutes for their massage.

Please contact me for more information.

Q. Do you massage teenagers?

A. Yes! I have a current Blue Card (working with children check), as well as professional membership with Massage & Myotherapy Australia (Australian Association of Massage Therapists AAMT), professional indemnity and public liability insurance, as well as first aid training.

Teenagers may benefit from massage for dealing with stress surrounding exam periods, or for pain management including headaches, sporting injuries and more. I will need your teenager's consent for the massage, as well as consent from a parent or guardian prior to the massage beginning.

Please contact me for more information.

Q. Do you do group bookings or special events?

A. Yes! I get many group bookings. Sometimes it is just 2 people - husband and wife, or two friends. Or I have also done six one-hour massages at the same house before! I have also attended special events including kindy mums nights, hens nights and charity events.

Please contact me to discuss your requirements or for more information.

Q. I have cancer, can I still get a massage?

A. Yes! I have further training in Oncology Massage. Please see my oncology massage page for some more specific information.
